About Dr. Rosenbaum
Raphael E. Rosenbaum, MD, is a skilled ophthalmologist and uveitis specialist serving the tri-state area with four New York offices in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, the Borough Park neighborhood of Brooklyn, New Rochelle, and Forest Hills. With his extensive surgical training and ongoing practice, Dr. Rosenbaum is board eligible by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Rosenbaum earned his bachelor of arts from Yeshiva University in New York, where he graduated with honors with a major in mathematics and a minor in biology. He earned his medical degree at New York Medical College in Valhalla and completed his internship at Westchester Medical Center in the same city. Dr. Rosenbaum did his residency in ophthalmology at Nassau University Medical Center/Stony Brook University in East Meadow, New York, where he served as chief resident in ophthalmology.
After completing his residency, Dr. Rosenbaum went on to do fellowship training at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School, and Massachusetts Eye Research & Surgery Institution. During his fellowships, he specialized in ocular immunology, ocular inflammatory diseases, and the treatment of uveitis.
Dr. Rosenbaum’s surgical training includes performing complex cataract extraction, glaucoma surgery, retinal surgery, cornea surgery, and placement of retinal implants, as well as glaucoma and retinal laser surgery.
Active in ophthalmic research, Dr. Rosenbaum has co-authored peer-reviewed articles and presented at national ophthalmology conferences, and he has been a co-investigator in multiple prospective and experimental research trials. He’s also an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
To help educate the next generation of ophthalmologists, Dr. Rosenbaum is an attending ophthalmologist at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Nassau University Medical Center, where he devotes his time to teaching.
