About Dr. Tseng
Joseph J. Tseng, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist with over 12 years of experience providing high-quality care to residents in and around New York City. As a key member of the team of physicians at Retina Associates of New York, Dr. Tseng offers individualized care for some of the most sensitive vitreoretinal and ocular inflammatory concerns.
Dr. Tseng graduated with honors from Stanford University in Stanford, California, with a bachelor’s degree in human biology. After completing his undergraduate studies, Dr. Tseng earned his medical degree Columbia University’s College of Physicians & Surgeons in New York City.
After a medical internship at Lenox Hill Hospital, Dr. Tseng began his ophthalmology training with a residency at Columbia University Medical Center. After his residency, Dr. Tseng completed two fellowships, one in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at Columbia University Medical Center, and another in uveitis and ocular immunology at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
In addition to his work in patient care, Dr. Tseng is also a clinical assistant professor at the State University of New York’s Department of Ophthalmology, where he was named Teacher of the Year in 2019. He has written numerous articles, abstracts, and book chapters and reviews, and he has made dozens of select presentations and lectures.
Dr. Tseng is a member of the American Medical Association, American Society of Retinal Specialists, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
